  • NATURAL FLY REPELLENT - Our WCF Country Tucker Equine Garlic Powder acts as a natural fly repellent, keeping flies and other nuisance insects away. When horses fed on garlic sweat, they release the smell of garlic through their skin, giving off an odour that keeps flies away.
  • ADDED BENEFITS There is lots of added benefits to feeding garlic not just as a fly repellent. One benefit of feeding garlic is that it is a natural source of methysulfonylmethane (MSM) which is commonly used to treat joint problems and allergies. It is also used to treat respiratory diseases and infections in the lungs, providing relief from the symptoms of coughs.
  • HIGHLY PALATABLE Not only is garlic powder a natural fly repellent, if you have a fussy eater it also helps increase a horse’s appetite, this is because the added flavour and smell makes it highly palatable.
  • INTRODUCING/FEEDING GARLIC When feeding garlic, it is advised to introduce it first rather than giving the whole dosage. This will allow the horse to experience the taste and smell without being overwhelmed. You should monitor your horse’s feeding area, making sure that they are eating their food rather than spilling it. If you discover that your horse is not eating, decrease the levels of garlic. You may begin to see results within a week, however, allow several weeks for the garlic to build up in the horse’s body to see results.

Feeding Guide

Please see our feeding guide below on how to introduce garlic into your horse’s diet.

• Start by sprinkling 1 tsp of garlic powder on your horse’s feed to allow them to adjust.

• Continue adding 1 tsp to the food for the next 3 days.

• Increase the amount to 2 tsp, continue sprinkling on the food for approximately 3 days.

• Increase the amount by 1 tsp every 3 days

• Do not exceeding 9 tsp per day.
