Is your dog your hero? Do they make every day that little bit better or have they done something wonderful which makes them super special?

Dogs can impact our lives in many ways, from the simple act of showing they love you when we need it the most, to supporting those with disabilities, and even sensing when something is wrong. We want to know why your dog is special to you and about the things they've done.

We're celebrating the everyday heros on four legs and your dog could be one of them. Whether it's a heartwarming moment or a life-changing act, we'd love to hear your story.

We'll pick nine lucky dogs to win a Lakes Collection hamper full of nutritious food, tasty treats, and goodies your dog will love. Chosen by a public vote, there will be one overall winner who will enjoy a luxury, dog-friendly glamping break at one of WCF's campsites!

Share your story for a chance to win a dog-friendly break for the whole family! 🐾

Some of our hero dogs so far...

Khaleesi & Arya from Ulverston

"When my Dad died, my dogs helped me get through each day, my disabled brother lives with us and it can be challenging but they are always there to make me smile."

Tia from Wigton

"After losing my St Bernard, I had this massive St Bernard sized hole in my heart that this little golden puppy filled. Tia completed our family, we have had so many adventures together."

Floki & Dylan from Ulverston

"When I lost my partner, my dogs got me through every day. Sat with me no questions asked, they just knew what was needed."

Tess from Carlisle

"Knowing she’s always there through thick and thin, loves a cuddle and zoomies are always fun! When we lost Tess’s Great Grandma a couple of years ago, and when I lost my grandad last year she knew how to just be there for me when I was upset"

Sugar from Carlisle

"I adopted her after my husband died suddenly. She keeps me going and is my emotional support (and outburst) dog. I feel like she was sent by my late husband to look after me."

Bee from Carlisle

"Bee came to our family only four weeks ago but has slotted in like she has always been there. Having lost our cocker spaniel 4 years ago to cancer we knew the breed well and how loving, affectionate and stuck to your side the breed can be and Bee fits all these characteristics! For being so little she has a big personality and endless amounts of energy which comes in handy keeping up with our Springer Spaniel and Labrador."
